About

I presently resides in St. John’s, Newfoundland Canada. I am a graduate student at Memorial University in Newfoundland with a background in Mechanical Engineering, currently a specialized Planning and Controls Engineer with over 17+ years experience in the Oil and Gas industry. My experience in project planning and controls has given me a strong foundation in data-driven decision-making and translating data insights into actionable recommendations.

Why I am interested in the technology industry

My interest in the technology industry and  primary goal for this program is to extend my core skill-sets with highly transferable data literacy to help me contribute to and manage cross-functional teams. As business and  engineering operations are rapidly evolving into data-centric and efficient operations, it is now more than critical to be equipped with this skillset to ensure relevance in my industry as well as have a competitive advantage in regard to my employability. As a recent immigrant to Canada, I am passionate about supporting the government’s economic growth initiatives through technology development, such as data analytics. As a self-motivated learner with a strong background in mathematics and engineering, I am eager to participate in this data analytics training program. This opportunity would not only allow me to advance my career but also contribute to an inclusive and evolving future for Canada and the world.
